Catauro, Mariantonia (Antonia) Peacefully our beloved Mother passed away into the arms of her Lord and with her family by her side on June 29, 2020 at 93 years old. Missing her deeply are son John and daughter-in-law Barbara, her adoring grandchildren Marisa (Anthony) Grancic, Nicola Catauro, Andrea (Brendan) Jones and Carlo Catauro. Antonia was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Nicola Catauro (1989) and her dear son Gavino (Adriana) Catauro (2001). Cara Bisnonna to Nathan, Abigail, Hunter and Harrison, all of whom brought a smile to her face and love to her heart. Special and loving Zia to Carmelo (Houda) Catauro, Rosario (Angela) Catauro, and Carmella (Tony) Elsido and their families, as well as, the Amicarelli and D’Agnillo families. Dear sister-in-law to Rosa and the late Michele Catauro. Predeceased by her brother Elio (Ida) Ciccorelli and sisters Ada (Sebastiano) Sammarone and Emma (Pasquale) Carlomagno. Will be deeply missed by her sister Elvia (Gaetano) Di Pasquo, as well as, by her many nieces and nephews in Italy and the US. Born in Capracotta, Isernia, Italy, to Candido and Vincenzina Ciccorelli, Antonia and Nicola were among many young couples who immigrated to Canada to build a new life. A loving and devoted mother and homemaker, Antonia was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals and baking for her family, especially for the holidays. She loved listening to Italian music and watching her Italian television programs which included the daily Mass. A devout woman of unwavering faith and the heart of her family, Antonia shaped their lives by her Christian example and she prayed her rosary daily for the intentions of her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of St. Angela de Merici Church. A heartfelt thank you to Schlegel Village at St. Clair (Harrow Neighbourhood) who took care of Antonia with respect, dignity and love.
