Obituary of Annie Kalyn

KALYN, Annie (nee Zablocki) Annie passed away peacefully in the presence of family on February 14, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her husband Mervyn Kalyn (1997) and brother Mike Zablocki (2008). She is survived by brother Sam Zablocki (Margaret), Mary Magnowski (Frank 2000), Lena (Paul) Boychuk, Carol (Ed) Sabatowski and many nieces and nephews. She was the loving mother of Verna Cotey, Willie Kalyn, and Howard Kalyn. Devoted Baba to Tim Cotey and Erin Vipond, Marty (2001), Shaun (2012), Brad and Tham Cotey, Andrea, Courtney (2008), and Whitney Kalyn. A doting Pra Baba to Alexis, Michael (1990) Shears, Kathryn McCann, Kaitlyn, Erika, Christopher, Emily and Summer Cotey, and Toni Rae and Ren"e Lapointe. Annie was also recently made a Pra Pra Baba to Rachael Immerson. She was an active member of the Sts. Vladimir & Olga church. An avid gardener, cook, and perogy & cabbage roll maker, she willed be sadly missed by all who knew her especially her neighbors Theresa Perfecto and family as well as Daniel, Sylvie and Elizabeth Beveridge. Annie worked as a Nurse"s Aide at Riverview Hosptial. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Monday February 17, 2014 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm, Panakhyda prayers at 8pm. Viewing continues on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church (601 Lake Trail Dr.) from 9:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 10am. Rt. Rev Fr. Eugene Halitsky officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund.
