Obituary of Costantin Giofu

GIOFU, COSTANTIN (Conne) Passed away peacefully at Malden Park at the age of 88 on February 1, 2014 with his family by his side. Conne was the loving husband and best friend to Eleanora (Precop), for 61 years. He is survived by two sons, David (Cindy) and Dennis (Nancy), and by grandsons Daniel, Thomas, Timothy and Steven, Dylan and Keith. He is also survived by siblings Sam (Jean), Jenny (Bill Oncea), Mike (friend Roseanne), Alec (Anastasia), and Rose Cahoon, and in-laws George Filip, Dana Giofu, Pete Tonita and Evelyn Sekedat. Predeceased by parents Costan Giofu and Garafira (Andrei), and by siblings George, John, Dorothy Seibel, Helen Majoren, Margaret Filip, Virginia Tonita/Precop, Georgina Bastien and Sager. Conne was retired from Fontana Brothers in Detroit for 28 years. He was a longstanding member of St. George's Romanian Orthodox Cathedral and an Armed Forces Veteran serving in World War II. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Road E., 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Friends and relatives may gather on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. George"s Romanian Orthodox Cathedral from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Rev.
