Obituary of Tomo Barkovic

BARKOVIC, Tomo. With great sorrow and a broken heart, Tomo passed away suddenly on January 10, 2014 at the age of 74 years. He is now once again reunited with his beloved wife Mary (nee Deveric) (January 2, 2014). Leaving to mourn his loss are his loving children, Kathy (Steve) Pusic, Barb (Marcel) Meloche, and Joe (Marina) Barkovic. Cherished "Deda" to Michael (Jenn), Tommy (Lisa) and Anne-Marie (Kevin) Sekula; Stephanie, David and Anthony Pusic; Cindy, Nicole and Julie Barkovic. Great-grandfather to Tyler, Matthew and Jacob. Dearest son to the late Tomo and Milka Barkovic. Predeceased by brother Nikola & surviving wife Pepa Barkovic and Marica & Nikola Turkalj. Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. Tomo was a retired employee of National Radiator. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church and a member of Knights of Columbus, Kardinal A. Stepinac Council #11774 and a 4th Degree member of the Fr. Alphonse C. E. at Banwell Rd. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Knights of Columbus prayers Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Services on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Banwell Chapel then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
