Obituary of Edwin Charles Miles

MILES, Edwin Charles Passed away peacefully at his home with his family on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 57 years to Lorraine (nee Chard). Loving father to Melody Miles and husband William Barley, Ed and John. Cherished grandfather to Charlotte and Olivia Miles whom he adored. Loving step-brother to Corrie and Philip and brother-in law to Glenda and late husband Alex, Marilyn and the late Judith. Edwin will also be lovingly remembered by his niece Lynn Hajdu and husband Frank, nephew Robert Banyai and other nieces and nephews. Edwin was retired after having worked for over 40 years as an investment advisor originally with Bongard & Leslie and eventually with Nesbitt Thomson. He was an avid dancer with a love of ballroom dancing and an exceptional athlete who was a well known basketball player with Riverside in his youth. Edwin loved to study languages and did so by traveling the world extensively. He was also a long standing member of Emmanuel United Church and St. Barnabas. Edwin cared deeply for others and gave generously of himself and his resources to many charitable pursuits. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him for the better. The family would like to thank Dr Basur, the Erie St. Clair CCAC, the Windsor-Essex EMTs, and especially Shannon from Revera Home Health for the exceptional care provided to our husband and dad over the past few years.
