Obituary of Jacques Guimond

GUIMOND, Jacques It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Jacques, age 67, after a short, but valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his "Four Girls", wife Carol (nee Wudwud) with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage in July of this year, and daughters Nathalie, Michelle, and Roseanna. Jacques was born in Lorrainville, Qu"bec to the late Florian and Rose (Gaudet). He was predeceased by his older brother Robert, in November 2012, his first wife Lina (Manseau) and by an infant grandson Jeremy. He is survived by six grandchildren, James, Anthony, Aaron, Nathanyel, Sherye and Demetrice, and one great-grandson Anairyn, his step-mother Fleurette and half-sister Chantal Caya. He is the brother in-law of Thomas (Pat) Wudwud, Marilyn Guimond, and former brother in-law of Helene (Victor) Champoux, and the uncle of Jos"e, Michelle and Mickael Guimond, Shannky Caya, and Meaghan and Alexandra Wudwud. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins residing in Ontario and Qu"bec. Jacques was an employee of Chrysler Canada Ltd. For 35 years where he was affectionately known by many as "Big Bird" because of his tall stature and gangly legs. He was a long-standing member of Club Alouette where he served on the Board of Directors. He devoted many hours of volunteer time to his daughter Roseanna"s Ukrainian Dance group, Windsor Barvinok and always considered himself an honorary Ukrainian by marriage. He was a die-hard Montreal Canadien Fan, and loved to play golf"scoring his one and only hole in one in June 2009. Jacques was well-loved by many including neighbourhood grand-children Alex, Mason, Noah, and Evan and notorious for his big goofy grin, cowboy attire and willingness to help others.
