Obituary of Albert Leslie Finch

FINCH, Albert (Al) Leslie (January 26, 1941 - July 29, 2013) Passed away with his family by his side. A loving and thoughtful husband of 23 years to Judith (Judy) (Emslie-David). Loving father to Lesley and Ken Lorenzen, and David and Meredith Finch. Stepfather to Tammie and Jim Fleming, and Darren Emslie. He loved his grandchildren more than anything: Tara and Amanda, Ryan, Audrey, Max, Hayden, Everett and Isaac. Chosen grandchildren: Amber, Muqabi, Kuteesa and Johnathan. Loving brother to Barbara & Len Tintinallic (2008), Louise & Patrick (2013) Shoemaker, Margaret & Jay Baxter (1995), Sarah Anderson (1997), Ruth & Philip Carley. Uncle to many nieces & nephews. Son-in-law to Catherine (2000) and Gordon Gabert from Saskatchewan. Brother-in-law to Irene Rutherford, Penny Girouard, Leo Fowler, Linda (2012) and Nick Wentoniuk, Florence (2008) and Richard Becker. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth Varah (Finch) and stepfather Eugene Varah, father Frederick Andrew Finch (1961). Al worked at Chrysler Canada and retired as senior engineer at Chrysler Auburn Hills, Michigan (33 years). He loved his boxer dogs, Ben and Sox. He loved sailing his boat, driving his MG, and going to MG meetings, also, Saturday breakfast with the guys and meeting for pizza at S.P.S.C., and spending time with his friend, Scott Turner. We will all miss him dearly. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Tuesday August 6, 2013 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday August 7, 2013 at Riverside United Church (881 Glidden Ave.) from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am officiating Rev. Ann Rowsell. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. In memory of Albert, donations may be made to The Windsor Essex County Humane Society or Riverside United Church Outreach.
