Obituary of Eugene Joseph Pattenaude

PATTENAUDE, Eugène Joseph
On Saturday, June 6th, 2020, Eugène passed away of natural causes at the age of 93. Loving husband of Laura (Dionne). Loving father of Dan (Annette), David (Marsha), Vic (Kelly), and Roger (Bev). Predeceased by his parents William and Marie-Anne (Gagnon) Pattenaude. Dearest brother of Rose-Marie (late Ludger) Gagnier, the late Elisabeth (late Charles) Mailloux, and the late Cécile (late Omer) Oriet. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, by his grandchildren: Eric (Madison), Sara (Josh), Michael, Amanda, Casey, Noah, Charles, and Kieran, and 5 great-grandchildren: Lyra, Kenley, Sandler, Cedric, and Gideon. Dad was a hard worker. After Dad’s nine years at Chrysler Assembly, Eugene and Laura went into business for themselves. He and Laura were the owners of Quincaillerie Pattenaude Pro Hardware in Pointe Aux-Roches, and of Tilbury Pro Hardware from 1961 until 1994. Dad was a man of quiet integrity who never infringed on another person’s rights. A good man who was always willing to help others. He let his 4 sons grow up making their own mistakes and never dictated how they should live. He loved his wife and business partner Laura and we all knew he was the leader of the household…yet in a good way! Eugène and Laura were two of the founding members of St. Jérome Parish. Eugène had been living with Laura at the Schlegel Village at St. Clair Nursing home. The family would like to thank all the hard-working staff at Village at St. Clair Nursing Home for their love and excellent care of our parents over the years. Due to the current restrictions by the health unit, a private family visitation has taken place followed by a committal service and interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has instituted the following directive. “The maximum number of people who can be at the funeral home at one time (not including staff) is 10 or fewer. This pertains to the entire funeral home”
