Obituary of Mathew Basil Dugal

DUGAL, Mathew Basil Passed away on May 23rd, 2013 after a courageous battle, with his loving family at his side, at 83 years of age. Much loved husband of the late Doris (nee Lefaive) 2008 with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Beloved father of the late Matt (Connie), Mark and wife LuAnne, Penny and husband Milton Harris, Tammy and husband Mike Ganney. Loving Pa of Mark, Nicole and husband Steven Kibit, Milton and Barb, Tiffany and husband Brad Gyori, Kevin, Mikey, and Alyssa; and great grandpa of Chase. Predeceased by his parents Zenophile (1968) and Bella (1981) and by siblings Louis (1998), Marcel (2000), and Paul (1989). Survived by his sister Beverly Alewick. Matt is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Matt was involved with many community groups, some of which included; Belle River Fire Department, Canadian Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Canada Network Windsor/Essex, Prostate Cancer Survivor Outreach Program (Chairman), Metropolitan Hospital Comprehensive Men"s Health Program Board, Motorcycle Ride for Dad (founding member), Good Fellows and Hospice of Windsor/Essex County. Matt was the manager of Fire Equipment Company of Detroit for 30 plus years. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Monday, May 27th, 2013 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Essex Prostate Cancer Support Group or the Hospice of Windsor Essex County.
