Obituary of Cecile Thibault

THIBAULT, Sr. C"cile Sr. C"cile Thibault, SNJM (Sr. Martha-du- Sacr" Coeur), died peacefully surrounded by members of her religious community, while receiving the sacrament of the sick from Fr. George Beaune, CSB. Sister died at Devonshire Senior Residence after a lengthy illness, in her 94th year. She received tender loving care from Ann Hansen, Lisa Hoorlebeck and the dedicated staff at Devonshire. Sister leaves behind her only cherished sister, Mrs. Blanche Woodward, Boise, Idaho, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Hector and Martha, her brother Arthur and her sister Marie Hucul. Sister C"cile entered the convent of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in 1940, made final vows in 1946 and taught until her retirement in 1973. She then went on to work in Blessed Sacrament, St. Rose of Lima, St Joseph the Worker, and again at St. Rose of Lima parishes until her final retirement from active ministry in 2001. She worked tirelessly with the St Vincent de Paul society, serving her beloved poor for most of her life. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, May 27th from 2-5 p.m. with prayers at 4:00 p.m. Family will receive friends at Our Lady of Assumption Church (Corner of University Ave. West at Assumption) on Monday, May 27, 2013 for visitation from 6:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass to celebrate Sister C"cile's life at 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th. Family and friends are invited to a reception at Devonshire Residence immediately following the burial, to continue sharing memories with the Sisters. In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations may be made to The Sisters of the Holy Names for their on-going work with the poor and disadvantaged.
