Obituary of Shirley Elizabeth Colthurst
COLTHURST, Shirley Elizabeth (nee Queen) Passed away peacefully on May 20, 2013 at the age of 81. Dear wife of the late Guy (2011). Loving mother to Casey (Kelly) and the late Cameron (1994). Adored grandmother to Peri Adele. Daughter to the late Margaret and Arthur Queen. Sister to Joan (Roger) and the late Betty. Predeceased by brother-in-law Harry and sisters-in-law Betty, Rita, Rosemary and Adele. Shirley will be missed by many nieces and nephews especially Patty. Shirley was proud of her family and very proud of her granddaughter. She retired from International Joint Commission (IJC), and then volunteered with the Windsor Tourist and Convention Bureau as an Ambassador, and she was very active with St. Aidan"s Church. She was "world famous" for her butter tarts, fudge and chili and loved her gardens. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Metropolitan Hospital, 4th floor. A special thank you to Jackie for her care and compassion shown to Mom during her stay. Cremation has taken place. E. on Thursday, May, 23, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or the Alzheimer"s Society of Windsor & Essex County.
