Obituary of Dorothy Megan Mitchell

MITCHELL, Dorothy Megan Born on July 31, 1915 passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2013 in her 98th year. Daughter of William and Annie Mitchell. Beloved sister to Gladys, predeceased by her sister Gwen and brother Fred. Dorothy was an awesome auntie to Murray and Megan. She accompanied us on most family vacations and she loved rollercoasters! She was loved by all who knew her. Her interests included camera club, Pilot Club, bowling, travelling and, of course, her passion for the Girl Guides. She was a selfless, humble, bright, curious woman who took great interest in other people and world events right to the end of her life. Special heartfelt thanks to dear friends Margaret Simpson who visited almost daily keeping Dody connected with the outside world, Camille White for her spiritual guidance and to Dorothy"s Home Instead caregivers: Lynda, Laurie Ann, Margret and Ruth with whose support and loving care she was able to remain at home where she had lived for 92 years. Cremation has taken place. A service of gratitude for her life will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Saturday May 18, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Girl Guides of Canada to support Camp Briarswood would be greatly appreciated.
