Obituary of Leona Ryder

RYDER, Leona (Nonie) (nee Willoughby) Peacefully, surrounded by love at the Village of Aspen Lake on May 11, 2013, in her 92nd year. Reunited with her loving husband Edward (Ted) (1995). Precious mother and best friend of Janet Ryder, Windsor, the late Anita McAuslan-Simone (2012) and the late Edward (Teddy) (1953). Cherished grandmother of David Simone (Monique), Dean Simone, Dana Levidis (Steve) and Dawn Simone (Steve) all of Windsor. Loving great-grandmother of Alanna and Jonathan Levidis, Nathan Keeble, Sophia and Edward Simone. Loved aunt of Richard and Dereda Ducharme. Survived by sons-in-law Paul McAuslan and Alfred Simone, as well as numerous friends and extended family. Mrs. Ryder was a saleslady at C.H. Smith's and Bartlett's for many years. She loved her family, her home, gardening and bowling and the Detroit Tigers. We wish to thank her friends and caregivers at Aspen Lake who cared for her tenderly and lovingly for the past 2 1/2 years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 10:15 from the funeral home then to Immaculate Heart Parish for funeral mass at 11:00am.
