Obituary of Ivan Radocaj

RADOCAJ, Ivan. Born August 20, 1941 in Dobrenici, Generalski Stol, Croatia. Passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Ruza, at his side on May 9, 2013 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Beloved husband and soulmate of 48 years to Ruza (nee Radinovic). Predeceased by parents Mate and Zora Radocaj. Loving brother to Jure Radocaj (Vera) of Croatia. Cherished uncle to Zeljka Bajac (Misko) and their children Bruno and Ana Maria; Snjezana Radocaj and her children Mihal and Mateo, all of Croatia. Dear cousin to Dane Spehar (Barbara) and family of New Market, ON.; Kata Dosan (Martin) and family of Hamilton, ON.; Ivan Kasunic (Anka) and family in Hamilton, ON.; and Jelka Spehar (Steve) and family in Toronto, ON. Leaving behind to mourn his loss are his many family and friends in Canada and Croatia. Ivan emigrated from Croatia to Thunder Bay, ON. in 1971 and then made Windsor his home in 1973. Ivan was a retired employee of Chrysler Canada after 30 years of dedicated service and a member of CAW Local 444 and St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church. A heartfelt thank you to Doctors Seski, Zajner, Fernando and Naidu, along with the nurses and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital (4 North and C.C.U.) for all of their care and compassion. E. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Ivan will be laid to rest in Generalski Stol, Croatia at a later date.
