Obituary of Anthony Thomas Michalek

MICHALEK, Anthony (Tony) T. Of Blue Heron, Windsor, passed away March 24, 2013 at the Hospice House of Arizona in the loving arms of his wife and partner Rose Marie Michalek ( Vigneux ). Your soul may be gone, but you will forever be in our hearts. He was born on August 29, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Stephen and Victoria Michalek. He married Edwina (nee Tessmer) 1955 in Warren, Michigan and she predeceased him in death in 1982, also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He then married Rose Marie Vigneux-Futko in 1987 of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Tony was a caring and inspiring stepfather, proudly accepting them all as his own: Brian Futko, Richard Futko (2001), Janice Boismier (Al Guthrie), Charles Futko, Michael Deslauriers and Shari Futko. He was a loving and patient Papa to Jennifer Bergen, Chantelle Boismier, Shira Labonte, Kody Labonte, Spencer Cavalier and Great grandfather to Kyren Purdy, all who miss him dearly. He has one remaining brother and family of Stanley (Stash) Michalek of Dearborn, Michigan. He will also be missed by dear friends Arthur and Esther Michalec and their children of Troy, Michigan. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Tony was an engineer for Chrysler Corporation and then for General Dynamics for 32 years. He was also a decorated Veteran as a Paratrooper with the C17 in the US ARMY and served in Korea , even continued to go out and make jumps even after he returned home from active duty. Parish prayers Friday at 5:30 PM. A Veteran's Service under the Auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee will be held on Friday evening at 7:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at St . Anne's Church (12233 Tecumseh Rd. E, Tecumseh) on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 10:30 AM until time of Tony's funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Fr.
