Obituary of Bertha Rosemarie Stephens

STEPHENS, Bertha R. (nee: Perrault) June 27, 1920 - December 19, 2012 Passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Metropolitan Hospital, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving husband of 70 years and her adoring family. Beloved wife of Wilbert Stephens. Loving mother of Ronald and partner Dee, Kenneth and wife Marjorie. Dear grandmother to Kelly Ridley (Matt), Sean (Sherry), Deanne Shaw (Andrew), Melissa, and Lisa. Devoted great-grandmother to Kyra, Braydon Shaw, Evan, and Cameron Shaw. Strongly missed by her many godchildren, nieces and nephews, and her "adopted" daughter, Bonnie Coutinho. Predeceased by her parents, George and Emma Perrault, and last of her brothers and sisters, May Seguin (Herve), Lawrence (Betty), Rita Stone (Lawrence), Doris Baillargeon (Bert), Norman (Pat) and Gordon (Kay). Bertha loved her Bingo afternoons in Belle River, and her amazing vegetable gardens and flowers. A spotless housekeeper, she took special pride in taking care of her husband, organizing family Christmases, and knitting outfits for all the family births. Christmas will not be the same without her! Perhaps she will organize the family Christmas in heaven. East on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm., Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to celebrate Bertha's life will take place on Monday December 24, 2012 at 9:00 am from the funeral home then to Good Shepherd Parish (St. Williams Site) ( 1203 Church St., Emeryville) for funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
