I wish to express our heartfelt sympathies and prayers to Lorenzo's family. I ( Margaret Watson nee Meunier) attended St. Alphonsus grade school with Lorenzo and we made our first communion together. It was great reconnecting with him and he was instrumental in having a group of the "old" gang meeting once a month for lunch. We truly enjoyed his company, sense of humour and passion for reigniting old friendships that we hope will last till we all meet again in the hereafter. Our prayers are with you and may he now rest in peace but I'm sure he'll be waiting for us to organize another reunion on the other side.

Dear Maureen, Yolanda, Eileen and Michael Anthony, we send our Condolences to you all and are very sorry for such a great loss to your family. We were so heart broken when we heard the news about our Dear Friend Lorenzo. We will say on a positive note, as Lorenzo himself would say to start a conversation, that he'll be really missed by us, especially when he'd just drop by unexpectedly to say "HELLO" and see how everyone was doing. We loved how he would show up with his hot Timmy's Coffee and just start talking to Matthew see how School was going and making sure he was doing well, just like a caring friend and School Teacher would do. He was so excited for our son Michael starting his Career at Stantec Engineering which is located in the same office building where Lorenzo worked. Lorenzo was going to be Michael's Financial Advisor in the New Year. Michael even sent him an email the same day of Lorenzo's Passing to get together with him and Michael is heartbroken he will never have a chance to respond. But Michael will always keep his advice to heart and do the right thing. Also he was always so Concerned about Tiffany and her Health and very compassionate with her. He never left without saying I'll pray for you, he loved God and we know we'll see him in Heaven again and we are so Thankful for that. We will share the funniest Memory of Lorenzo and that is when he was Teaching Matthew, he showed up one day and Matt was home alone he called Matt on his cell phone and asked him what he was doing and of course at that time he was supposed to be studying. This is how the conversation went, Hi Matt, what are you doing right now? Matt: Aw studying. Lorenzo: Really. Matt: Yup (But he was watching TV) Lorenzo: Hey Matt, turn around and look outside. Matt: OK Lorenzo: AWWWW I caught you! There was Lorenzo looking in the front window at Matt laughing his head off! The two of them definitely had a good laugh together. Matthew said he'll always be a huge part in his life and made a great effort teaching him. He always bragged about his Son and Daughters and how proud he was of all of them. Maureen you know how much he loved you so we won't go into details. God Bless You All and Know youre in our prayers. Xoxoxoxoxo Love Mike, Cheryl, Tiffany, Michael and Matthew Todd

Thank You Mr. Ferrato for being an awesome Teacher and having a great impact in my life. Also you always told me you were one of my biggest fans in baseball and hockey and I thank you for that. Thank you for the great laughs we had together and making sure I would be successful, just like a teacher would want their student to be. I will never forget you standing in the glass at the arena watching us play hockey, and then stopping by my house to say "Matt I really enjoyed watching you play today". That always made my game even more important Mr. Ferrato. Now I'll end this conversation and go buy a Tim Horton's Coffee because I don't remember you coming over without one. Love Matthew Todd

I am saddened to hear of the loss of your husband and father, Lorenzo. I had the pleasure of working for him at St. Gregory School from 2000 until he retired. As I sit and remember those days, the image of his smiling face is always front and centre as I think back to the person that he was. His hearty laugh still echoes in my mind as I can see him walking in the halls talking to the students or sharing a laugh with fellow teachers. Lorenzo had many roles as the principal of the school and he took it very seriously with always the student's interest at heart. You could see he was a caring man, not because he should be but because it was who he was. I remember one year end staff party where everyone was sitting in a large circle drinking to the end of another school year. It was decided that we all should say one adjective to descibe somebody and the first person should be Lorenzo. One by one people started using good adjectives to describe him, (caring, kind, funny, smart..) and as the circle continued, I was growing a bit nervous because I didn't want to use the same one as someone else. As I was sitting closer to the end of the circle, it was growing more and more difficult because all the good adjectives were already taken. Yet when it was my turn, I easily came up with an adjective. Passionate. He showed such passion in the way he ran the school, the way he spoke to people, the way he lovingly prepared delicious dishes for us to enjoy and the way he spoke about his family. Looking at his face, you could see the pride and love he had for you all as he shared stories of your successes. He was so many things to you I am sure, but I will always remember him as my friend. May God bless him and you as you carry on. Know that he will always continue to shine on you as the ones we love never leave us.
