Obituary of Derick Michael Blais

BLAIS, Derick Michael August 6, 1981-May 24, 2020 On Sunday, May 24, 2020 our hearts were shattered by the untimely and tragic passing of our beloved Derick. Beloved son of Madeleine Blais (nee Baillargeon) and the late Michael Blais. Loving brother and best friend to Darren Blais (Alison). Cherished father of Madison Sweet and Austin Hall-Blais. He will be deeply missed by his loving girlfriend, Shannon McAnulty. Dear nephew of Margaret Kwasnicki (Walter), Raymond Baillargeon (Marie), Angeline Streda (John), Yvette Price (Wayne), Eli Baillargeon (Zorka), Jacqueline Wade, Keith Blais (Elaine), Cheryl Durham and the late Elizabeth Paquette and the late David Blais. Derick had many cousins who were closer to him than most cousins are, he was like a brother to them and will be deeply missed by them all; Nicole, Christopher, Marc, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Kristen, Taylor, Brandon, Spencer, Daniel, Adam, Ashley, Kristie, Brian, Tiffany, Kyle and Krista. Derick was an employee at BMR and will be missed by his many co-workers. He enjoyed travel hockey and motorcross sports. Derick was a dedicated friend with an infectious smile, a heart of gold and an extraordinary personality. He was the life of the party and a social butterfly who could make anyone laugh, his sense of humour was above all and he was loved by everyone who knew him. He has left a mark in this world that can not be filled. We love you, and we miss you more than you know. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road, 519-253-7234 on Friday, May 29th, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 30th, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery, Belle River. at 11:00 a.m. Reservations for a visitation appointment time can only be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Please call Windsor Chapel Funeral Home 519-253-7234 to secure a designated time to pay your respects. Only those who have made a reservation will be received by the family on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th.
