Obituary of Giovanni Munisteri
It is with broken hearts and family by his side, we announce the passing of an amazing husband, father and nonno. Giovanni will be missed by the love of his life Lea sharing 44 years of marriage, loving father of Maria Lucier (Joseph) and sons Leonardo and Gerry. Proud nonno of Joshua Joseph and Jesse Giovanni Lucier. Predeceased by his parents Leonardo Munisteri (1979) and Maria Vella (2004). Son in law of the late Gerlando Mazza (2008) and survived by Nora Mazza. Loving brother of Anna Mazza (Alfonso), Francesca Munisteri (Giuseppe La Paglia). Brother in law of Cathy LaTona (Tony), Charlie Mazza, Donna Ivey (Darren), and Josie Lepera (John 2019). Greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Giovanni was born in Montallegro Sicily and a member of Caboto Bocciofila Club, Caboto Club, committee member of the Alpini Association, passionate President of Mantallegro Heritage Foundation and committee member of Congresso di San Giuseppe. Giovanni retired from the City of Windsor after 32 years and loved his job. He was devoted to his family and had an infectious smile, brightened up the room and loved to tend to his garden. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the family to commemorate Giovanni or online to the charity “In Honour of the Ones we Love.” Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. <strong> Please call the funeral home at 519-253-7234 between 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. to secure a designated time slot</strong>.
The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has instituted the following directive. “The maximum number of people who can be at the funeral home at one time (not including staff) is 10 or fewer. This pertains to the entire funeral home”
