To Gordie and Deb, Florence and I send our deepest condolences. John, JR, Jack Rabbit was our dear friend and my apartment mate for a few years. He and Keith Taylor and Pete McCallum and I shared an apartment in 1969. When Pete went back to Windsor and Keith married, John and I shared an apartment in 1970-1971 until I moved to Ottawa and he moved to Windsor in August 1971. We all have fond memories of the times we spent together. Gordie, you were a red-headed toddler then...haha. I can never forget John in the passenger seat of my MiniCooper, pushing his right foot as if it would go through the floor, as we took the ramp from 400 to 401 west at 80 mph in third gear, a regular occurrence as we went to and from work at Pearson airport. John's convertible Dodge dwarfed my mini to the point where you would think the mini would fit in his trunk, but we had many a run on Jane Street from Steeles to Sheppard when there were only three traffic lights, trying to outdo each other, and taking back his car and mine, both full of empty Labatts 50 twenty fours, was a sight to behold and a joy to remember. There are many more memories, all pleasant and unforgettable. I shall always hold them dear and keep his memory alive. Keith, Les and I will never forget good old Jack Rabbit our friend and brother. May he rest in peace.
