Obituary of James Smith DeShield

DeShield- James Smith Born August 13, 1917 died peacefully after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Predeceased by parents Leon and Alice DeShield, brother Winston 1995 (Alathea 1993), Roy 1996 (Barbara 2011), nephew Larry 1989 and niece Denise 2002. Survived by sister Betty-Anne DeShield of Toronto, niece Lee-Ann Nearon (Phillip), sons Justin, Danya and Saje of Bermuda; nephew Al DeShield (Annie), sons Robert and David of Tecumseh; niece Leslie Scott (Murray), children Elyse Rayner (Andrew), Brandon and Kristen of Bermuda. Also survived by other family and friends in Bermuda, Canada and the USA. Jim retired after 40 years as a Chemist from Ford Motor Company. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Friday February 3, 2012 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Relatives and friends will be received for visitation on Saturday February 4, 2012 at St. John's Anglican Church (3305 Sandwich Street) from 10am until time of his funeral service at 11:00am. Interment to follow at St John's Anglican Churchyard Cemetery. The family thanks the dedicated staff of Banwell Gardens and the Hotel Dieu Dialysis Unit for their exceptional care.
