Obituary of Ivan Janes
JANES Ivan It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ivan, with family by his side on September 2, 2011 at Windsor Regional Hospital Centre, at the age of 59 years. Beloved husband and soul mate to Barbara (nee Gazica).Cherished and devoted father to Janey Gilbert and husband Gerry of Cold Lake , Alberta; and Melody Janes-Poulin and husband Jamie, of Windsor.Dear son of the late Ljubica Janes. Dear son-in-law to Kata and her late husband Stjepan Gazica. Devoted, loved and adored "Dida" to Ashley and Emily Poulin; and Jaylynn and Kayden Gilbert. Loving brother to Nikola Janes and wife Kata, Slavko Palcic and wife Mary, Josip "Joe" Janes, Ruza Mallat and husband Frank all of Windsor; and Maria Lorkovic and husband Mirko, of Kitchener. Dear brother-in-law to Mara Krizmanic and husband Luka, Angelika Drvodelic and husband Branko all of Croatia; Ana Perekovic and husband Luka of Glina, Croatia; and the late Ivan Gazica and surviving wife Bara, of Croatia. Ivan will be dearly missed by several relatives, nieces and nephews and dear friends, in Canada and Croatia, and will be especially missed by best friends Tomislav "Buddy" and wife Branka Stajduhar. Ivan was retired from Chrysler Canada following many years of devoted service, was a member of CAW Local 444, and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. The family would like to acknowledge the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, especially Dr. John Matthews, The C.C.A.C., the V.O.N., the Hospice of Windsor, and the nurses and staff of 4 North & 4 West, for all of their care and compassion. Special thanks go to Dr. Seski and Dr. St. Amour, for their endless support and compassion. Funeral Service Wednesday September 7 , 2011 at 9:00 am from the funeral home, then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, or to the St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church Building Fund.
