Obituary of Giuseppa Varacalli

Varacalli (nee Iemma) Giuseppa Passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2020 at the age of 83 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo (1995). Loving mom of Nicolino Varacalli (Tatiana), Antonio Varacalli (Maria) and Giuseppe Varacalli (Lisa). Cherished Nonna of Valentina, Bianca, Nicola, Felicia and Celina. Sadly, missed by many family members in Australia, Italy, USA and Canada. Our precious mother will be remembered for all the love, caring and support she provided through the years. Her strong and positive attitude to accomplish anything with very little. Her cooking was exceptional, and all the fresh vegetables and fruits from her garden only made it more exceptional. Today we purchase organic, but whenever you visited mom or Nonna, it was certain to be organic. We will always remember you for your hospitality towards our friends and their families, no matter who it was. And most definitely you will be remembered for your kindness to others, when you provided food or gifts to the less fortunate, you would never hesitate to help one in emotional distress, your comforting and calm words along with your prayers, homemade desserts and espresso would always make you feel like things will get better. We will miss you, mom, but you will always be in our hearts, our prayers and in our gardens. When we raise a glass of wine for a toast, you and Dad will be a part of it as we reminisce on the food and wine that both of you provided to us from your labored hands. Special thanks to Riverside Long-Term Care, WRH–6 North Met Campus nursing for their care, support and compassion shown towards mom, in particular Dr. Liang, for going over and above his duties as a physician.
