Obituary of Teresita Perez

PEREZ, Teresita R.N. It is with heavy hearts that we express the sudden passing of our beloved Teresita on July 14th, 2011 at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Loving wife of Pedro. Adoring mother to Edwin and Peter Perez. Beloved sister of Rudy and Lorito Perez with their children Jillian & Darwin, Rogelio and Josephine Perez with their children Rogelio Jr, Venus and her children Tina Marie, Josephine May, Marc Nino and Marc Christian, and loved sister to Moana. Dear niece to Celestino Yaun and Ernestine Gatsu and Perla Yaun all of the Philippines. Loved sister in law of Loli Mayano, Eduardo Perez and nieces & nephews all of Spain. Teresita was born in Cebu, Philippines and immigrated to Texas USA in 1962 , then making British Columbia Canada her new home in 1964 and eventually making Windsor her permanent home in 1966. Teresita obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Masters in Transcultural Nursing, dedicating 33 years with Henry Ford Hospital retiring in 2003. Teresita gave her gift of caring to many including volunteering her time with the CNIB. She was a longtime member of the Michigan Nurses Association and the Social Work Association at Michigan. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, travelling and cooking. Her devotion and loving care she gave to others will forever live in our hearts. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. ( corner of Banwell & Tecumseh Rd E ) on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and Sunday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Parish prayers Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday July 18th, 2011 at 10:15 AM from the Banwell Chapel then to St. Vincent de Paul Church ( 6038 Empress ) for Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. Followed by a procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society or to the Kidney Foundation.
