Obituary of Vencek Josip Jurkovic

JURKOVIC, Vencek (Vince) Josip With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Vencek on Father's Day, June 19, 2011 at the age of 61 at his home. True love, husband and best friend of Katica (nee Bacic). Devoted and loving father (Tata) of Stanislav, Vjenceslav and Marina (nee Babic). Proud and spoiling grandfather (Dida) of Oktavijan, Henrik, Dominik and the late Evaneja. Son of Slavka (nee Isek) and the late Stanislav Jurkovic. Brother of Ivica (John) and Linda (nee Bacic) Jurkovic. Son-in-law to Tomo and Tereza Bacic. Brother-in-law to Barbara and the late Josip Kasana, Robert and Monica Bacic, Frank Bacic, and Steve and Caroline Bacic. Loving uncle to Shane and Jacqueline Jurkovic; Kathy, Frank and Christine Kasana; Andrew, Joyce, Matthew and Justin Bacic; Emma, Stevie and Lily Bacic. Veno is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, dear Kumovi, their families and many wonderful friends in Canada and Croatia. Vencek was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He enjoyed many years as a member of the Croatian Mixed Bowling League. Born and raised in Croatia, he immigrated to Canada to become a dedicated, fair and successful businessman who valued his relationships with all those he lead, collaborated and engaged with. With many years of hard work and devotion, Vince proudly ran and set the foundation and future for Columbia Machine Tool of Windsor Inc. E. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Thursday 8:00 p.m. Funeral services on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from the Banwell Chapel then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
