Obituary of Jure A.K.A. George Miletic

MILETIC, Jure (George) Our family annouces with great sadness that Jure has reached the end of his journey on June 15, 2011 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Born in Sveti Rok, Lika, Croatia, Jure and his family emigrated to Canada in 1961 to make a better life for themselves. Jure leaves behind his wife Ana, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage. Loving father to Katie Biscan, Marija (Ivica) Pocrnic, Steve (Lorraine) Miletic. Cherished Dida to Ana Zivcic, Joe and Violet Biscan; John, Christina and Matina Pocrnic; Stephanie, Sarah and Sean Miletic. Proud great-grand dad to Daniel and Juliana. Predeceased by parents Milka and Joso Miletic and brother Stipe (1943). Dear cousin to Mica Sekulic, Mate Sekulic, Manda, and predeceased by Matija and Filip. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. Jure was a retired employee from Dominion Forge Company and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church, Drustvo Hrvata Like and the Croatian Bocce Ball League at Croatia Park. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 253-7234 on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the Banwell Chapel then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
