Obituary of Stanley Ternovan

TERNOVAN- Stanley 82 years, peacefully, on April 9, 2011, at Sunrise Senior Living. Reunited with his beloved Shirley (1992). Dear father of Gary and friend Michelle, Sherry Lescombe and husband Todd and Cindy Lucas and husband Mark. Much adored grandfather of Lindsay (Andrew), Kristin (Nathan), Ashley (Anthony), Sara (Igor), Taylor, Ben and Jordan. Friend of ex-daughter-in-law Debbie Ternovan. Predeceased by his parents James (1987) and Mary (1977) and brother Billy (1933). Survived by brothers Mike and Joanne, George and Joyce. He will be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his new friends from Sunrise; Ernie, Denis, Buster and John. Stan was a graduate of the Henry Ford Trade school as a Tool and Die Maker. He retired 41 years later as the Area Manager of the Windsor Engine Plant 2. This not being enough he continued to work for another 14 years as a consultant to the Ford Motor Company off and on. Stan was well known in and around the Town of Tecumseh for portraying Chief Tecumseh and was a tireless volunteer with the Tecumseh Corn Festival for over 15 years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (corner of Tecumseh Rd and Banwell) on Tuesday April 12, 2011 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2011 at 10:30am in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. In kindness donations would be appreciated by the family to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer"s Association.
