Obituary of Beatrice Casciani

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Mamma from complications due to COVID-19. Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband Amedeo Casciani (1993), her parents Ferdinando and Gina Galano, brother, Domenico (Settimia) Galano, and many brothers and sisters-in-law in Italy and the United States. Beatrice was the beloved mother to Anna Guerra (Sergio) and Ed Casciani. The adored grandmother to Gina Bulcke (Darryl), Christopher Guerra (Patricia), Sara Guerra (Julien Fauquet-Lemaitre) and the cherished great grandmother to Brian Bulcke, Alex Bulcke, and Luca Fauquet-Lemaitre, who were the joy of her life. She was the heart of the family and affectionately called “Mamma” by all. Those around her were fortunate to have known the petite firecracker she was. Beatrice worked for many years at Hotel Dieu Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She loved to read, crochet, knit, cook, enjoy time with her family and socialize with friends. She had an incredible sense of humor, remarkable memory, charming stories to tell, and industrious ability to multi-task, that we will always remember. Her legendary homemade specialties such as pizzelle, gnocchi, and “ciciarelli“, were always in infinite supply for family and friends and a fraction of the generosity she had for others. The family would like to thank Dr. Marguerite Chevalier and the health care team (especially Marie C, Alex L and Patricya M) at Windsor Regional Hospital’s St. Clair Site for their genuine care and compassion, as the family could only provide virtual love and support during her final days. We also want to thank Heron Terrace for the care they provided “Bea”. Beatrice was a strong believer in the Catholic faith, and we know that she will rest in eternal peace. She was so loved and will be deeply missed. A private service was held with immediate family, and a mass and celebration of life will take place at a later date. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Windsor Regional Hospital Fight COVID-19 Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519.253.7234. Online Condolences may be shared at www.windsorchapel.com. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has instituted the following directive: “The new maximum number of people who can be at a funeral home at one time (not including staff) is 10 or fewer. This pertains to the entire funeral home.”
