Obituary of Joseph Louis Caissie

CAISSIE, LOU It is with heavy hearts that we express the peaceful passing of the " gentlest man in the world " on October 24, 2010 at the age of 85. Reunited with his beloved wife Lynn ( nee Charron ) ( 2008). Devoted dad to Dennis & wife Joanne Caissie, Louanne & husband Marcel Piche, Lynette (2004), and his special baby girl Lisa & husband Chris Boutette. Cherished papa to Jennifer & Marco Difazio, Robert Piche, Amanda & Todd Dennis, John & Sarah Piche, Jessica Caissie & Dan Clarkson, Ted Caissie & Shannon Vaillancourt, Jordan & Josh Good, Rachel & Shantelle Boutette. Precious great - papa to Tyler, Jake, Jakob, McKenna Kaitlynn, Abby, Kaycie, Justice and Travis. Lou will be deeply missed by his brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews in Pictou ; Nova Scotia, Sault St. Marie and Windsor. Lou served in WWII - Enlisting on September 27, 1942 , he was a Gunner on D-Day with the Second Anti-t-Tank Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery, ending his Military Career in 1956. After leaving the Military , Lou began his career with the Postal Service where he served as a Letter Carrier for 36 years, former member of the RCL Branch # 578 and dedicated 50 years serving as an Usher with Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Lou will be forever remembered for his love of family , friends and playing cards where he was known for being a Master Bridge Player. VISITATION AT THE Windsor Chapel Funeral Home ( BANWELL CHAPEL ) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E . ( 519-253-7234 ) ( CORNER OF BANWELL & TECUMSEH RD. E ) on Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Parish Prayers Wednesday Afternoon at 4:30 PM. A Veterans Service will take place on Wednesday Evening at 7:30 PM, under the Auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Thursday October 28, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church ( 834 Raymo Rd ) from 10:30 AM until time of funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Heart of the City c/o Hotel Dieu Hosptial or to the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee.
