Obituary of Adam Szelest

SZELEST, Adam Adam was a Christmas baby, born on December 23rd in Poland. He was the son of Henryk and Genowefa Szelest and the oldest of four siblings: one brother, Joseph, and three sisters, Janina, Jadwiga, and Halina. Adam's drive and courage allowed him to succeed academically as well as vocationally, as he graduated with a degree in agricultural engineering and held numerous positions including teacher, store owner, builder and vice president of the GS agricultural division. On July 9, 1977, he married Krystyna Wojtera, a union which brought two children, Robert and Izabela into the world. In the late 1980's, with a pioneer's spirit, Adam bravely journeyed to Canada where he worked to bring his family over in 1993, providing them with opportunities previously unimagined. For the world that he opened for his family and all that he was: an explorer, an entrepreneur, a friend, a brother, a son and a father, he is loved and will be missed. E. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service at 11:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to Holy Trinity Polish Church for Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
