Our hearts and prayers are with you Irene, Larry, Laura and Matthew. The memories I have of Aunt Paula are some of my most cherished! I loved walking from Grandma Krech's house to spend time with Aunt Paula and Aunt Kathy. If it was in the summer, we would sit by her garden and play with Pretzel. Or we would sit cozy in her kitchen while she would offer us all kinds of cookies (we would never get to eat at home!) and roast beef and potatoes and sip schnapps. We would play cards and Aunt Paula would sneak super-health-conscious-mom a little Benson and Hedges cigarette. Mom puffing on Aunt Paula's cigarette was such a hilarious thing to see and Aunt Paula would laugh her deep hearty laugh and we knew that she was helping mom to cut loose a little! Aunt Paula never made me feel like a kid - I always felt like I was one of the important people as I sat around her table playing cards and sharing jokes. She holds a special place in my heart as a person full of life, faith and love for her family. May God bless and keep her. Love the Burrell Family
