Obituary of Fernande Mariette Champagne

CHAMPAGNE, Fernande Mariette (nee Dubois). Passed away peacefully on January 13, 2013 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital at the age of 86 years. Wife of Paul Champagne. Loving Mother to the late Andre Noel Champagne (2010), Pauline Champagne, and Luke Champagne Sr. and wife Pamela. Cherished Grandma to Luke Champagne Jr. (Kayla), and Kim Desjardins. Great-Grandma to Jonathan, Dylan, Ethan, Aidan and Nathan. A heartfelt thank you to our family Bill and Judy Oneschuk and family, David and Valerie Carter and family whose support and kindness throughout mom's life was unwavering. Also, a sincere thanks to St. Elizabeth Health Care, (Tracey and Claudette), Para-Med (Kathy), and to Dr. Cohen and the nursing staff (Michelle, Dayna, Tiffany, Lisa, Rachel and Gwen) at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital 2 North for their compassionate care provided to Fernande. Mrs. Champagne was a member of the Moose Lodge and Bowlero where she was an avid bowler. She was a religious and spiritual woman who graciously volunteered her time at the former Immaculate Conception Church. Fern took great pride and joy in being the matriarch of the family to ensure that her family was always looked after should any need arise. She will be sadly missed by her pet companion "Angel" who was always at her side, especially during her final days of her journey on earth. According to Fern's wishes cremation and a private family memorial service has taken place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East. In kindness, donations to honour Fernande's life may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Windsor-Essex County or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
