Obituary of Henry Alfred Jones
JONES, Henry Alfred 86 years, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Tosca. Dad to Jennifer (son-in-law Harry Cole), Betty and the late Peter (daughter-in-law Nancy). Loving Grandpa to Christine, Jeffrey, Rosalind, Nathan, Adam, Tyler, and Kevin. Harry, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in London, England and found his passion for woodworking early in life as an apprentice in the London sawmills. He served in the British Army from 1944 to 1948. Immigrating to Canada in 1954, he found work in the auto industry (Ford retiree) and changed his vocation as a wood machinist into a life-long hobby. He made many fine pieces of furniture and wooden articles that are treasured to this day. The Jones family wish to thank the staff of CCAC, Hotel Dieu, and Windsor Regional Hospital for their dedicated care. A special appreciation goes to our wonderful neighbours, who have unselfishly extended friendship and support over the years. Cremation has taken place followed by a private family service. WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. Dad shared stories of the tough times in London as he was growing up and how the Salvation Army provided aid to his family.
