Obituary of Merle Stanley Gervais

GERVAIS, Merle S. August 31, 1919 ~ August 8, 2012 Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Jeannette (Nee Girard) Gervais. Loving father of Donald Gervais, Diane Francoz & late husband Joseph, Larry & Heather Gervais, and Gordon M. & Susan Gervais. Proud grandfather of Angela & Jim Casey, Lynn & David Weinle, Christopher & Kim Lytle, Renee Lytle & Sophie Chambers, Allison Gervais, Jeannette Gervais, Matthew & Amie Gervais, and Julianna & Tommy Biondo. Dear great grandfather of David, Katherine, Zachary, Meghan, Jennifer, Lauren, Isabella, Olivia, and Selah. Loving great great grandfather of Ava and Emily. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Merle spent 35 years working for the Ford Motor Company. He was a long time member of the Tilbury Country Club and St. Patrick"s Euchre Club. Merle will be remembered for his love of dogs. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East , on Friday August 10, 2012 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers Friday at 7:30 pm. The family will receive friends on Saturday August 11, 2012 at St. Francis of Xavier Church ( 32 Canal Street West), Tilbury, Ontario, for visitation from 10:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Francis of Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
