Obituary of Antonio DeRose

DeROSE, Antonio Born in San Ippolito, Cosenza, Italy on May 18, 1938. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving Husband, Father and Nonno on December 29, 2019 at Heron Terrace Nursing Home while surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband to Lidia DeRose (nee Borrelli) with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage. Cherished father to Danny DeRose and Adele Rizzuto (Phil) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Loving grandfather to Anthony, Alessia, Antonio and Isabella. Predeceased by parents, Giulia and Domenic DeRose, brother John DeRose (Giulia), sister Marianna (Ippolito) Litrente and Vince DeRose (surviving wife Anita). Survived by his brother Gerardo and late wife Emma and sister Filomena. Predeceased by in-laws, Frank and Ursula Borrelli and Nonna Giovanina Felice. Dear brother in-law to Elio Borrelli and wife Maria, Alba Gaudio and husband Domenic, Helen Battiati and late husband Pino, Joanna Borrelli and the late Carlo Borrelli. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Antonio was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company with over 23 years of dedicated service and was a member of Unifor Local 200. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Heron Terrace nursing home staff, specially Moya, Celeste, Brad, Sophia, Kerry and Leslie for the love and care that was given to Antonio. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 252-7234 on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave) for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Antonio, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Windsor-Essex County or the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
