Obituary of Carmella Mary Ann Brieda

BRIEDA, Carmella M "Ella" (nee - Montello) October 9, 1934 - June 26, 2012 Peacefully and pain free, passed away into the loving arms of God on June 26 at 78 years old, at home surrounded by her husband, son and daughter, after a two year courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Anna and Anthony Montello. Daughter in-law of the late Victoria and Joseph Brieda. Beloved wife of Louis Brieda for 54 years. Dear mother of Robert Louis Brieda of San Diego, California; and Sherilyne Marie and her husband Paul Boots. Dear sister of Frank J Montello, & late wife Norma (1999) ; Marguerite and husband Glen Smit; Marilyn and husband Don Kavanaugh; sister in law of the late Anne Montello (2010); and sister in law of Frank and Anna Maria Brieda and predeceased by Dominico "Nico" Brieda (1987); Maria Netto (1998) and husband Ennio; Rosina Del Zotto (1965) and husband Rico (1965). Grandmother to Melissa and husband Dennis Purdie of Rogers, Minnesota; Ryan Louis Brieda of San Diego, California; and Paul Boots and Jackie Boots, of Windsor. Great Grandmother to Addison Claire Purdie, and Emma Carmella Purdie. Carmella "Ella" is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifetime of wonderful close friends. Carmella was a member the CWL of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Carmella worked for Bell Canada for 36 years, and will also be missed by her cherished co-workers. Visiting is at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 519-253 7234 1700 Tecumseh Road East, on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcomed to gather at Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church (834 Raymo Road) on Saturday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be no procession. Cremation will take place, and Carmella will be laid to rest at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, with a private ceremony and dedication at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers will be sincerely appreciated to The Windsor Hospice & Essex County, The Canadian Cancer Society, The Children"s Make a Wish Foundation, or the Alzheimer"s Society. The family also expresses their sincerest gratitude to The Hospice of Windsor/Palliative Care - Dr. Gall and RN Erica. The CCAC, and Case Manager Kelly. Fr. Dennis Wilhelm, and Deacon Reg Quesnel, Of Our Lady of Guadalupe. And, lastly to Paramed, and the excellent care given by RN Tyna, who kept Carmella pain free and peaceful in her last final days.
