Obituary of Eileen Mary Schulde

Schulde-Eileen October 10, 1919 - January 27, 2012 This elegant woman was so kind, caring and vibrant. She was able to strike up a conversation with anyone she met from new neighbours to strangers in the super market. She made friends at every corner. Born into a time period where etiquette and manners were important, she focused on making everyone feel comfortable. But, her devilish sense of Irish humour could make you go weak at the knees at the most unexpected of moments. That she was a loving wife and a great mother is simply a given. She came to Windsor from Sault Ste. Marie at toddler age and made this her home. Her love of reading and news stemmed from her early job of working at the British Consulate in Detroit, Michigan where she had to scan up to fifty newspapers a day. She was a great believer in delivering "acts of kindness" on a regular basis to total strangers. This was an important aspect of her life which she has passed on. She volunteered with: Canadian Red Cross, The National Ballet, Metropolitan Hospital Women"s Auxiliary (now Windsor Regional) and Maycourt. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Joseph Schulde, her children, Deborah (and John Ciccone) and Joseph (and Sonya Schulde) as well as her grandchildren - Channing, Nicholas and Stefan Schulde. Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff of Grandview who also showed amazing acts of kindness. And the staff of Windsor Regional Hospital who took professionalism and caring to an amazing level. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. A celebration of Eileen's life will be on Wednesday February 1, 2012 at 11:00am in the chapel. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. On-line condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com Donations: Flowers are appreciated but delivering a hug or a random act of kindness to someone would be lovely. Pass it on.
