Obituary of Harold Shaw
SHAW, Harold Passed away peacefully on January 4, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Loving husband to Lorraine (nee Witt) sharing 65 years of marriage. Devoted and loving dad of: Ronald (Lolita), Harold (Sandy), Ida (Joan), Elizabeth (Paul), Gail (Sam), Bill (Mona), Jeff (predeceased 2001), Barbara (Brad), Patricia (Ray), Jamie (Jeanette), Michael (Jackie) and Christopher (Karen). Cherished grandpa to 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers and sisters Violet, Ken, Bill, Thelma, Clayton, Hazel, Earl, Ernie, Melvin, Verneda and George. Harold will be forever loved and remembered by his nephew Harold Labadie (Anne) and by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Harold is one of the last surviving WWII Veterans who proudly fought for our freedom, who served with the Army (Perth Regiment). He was a very proud member of the UAW and CAW for over 45 years. He will be remembered for his integrity, honesty and huge generosity that he passed on to his children who now follow in his footsteps. He was a member of Local 200, Local 240 and of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. A Veterans Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. under the auspices of the Windsor Memorial Veterans Committee. Everyone is welcome to join the family at the Windsor Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. then to St. Theresa Church for Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Harold memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army (envelopes available at the Funeral Home).
