Obituary of Violet Bodo

BODO, Violet 88 years. Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, Friday August 12, 2011. Predeceased by her loving husband Joseph (1998). Beloved mother to Beverley Van Sickle Holmes and husband John Holmes of Windsor. Dear Nani to Chris Van Sickle and wife Lisa of Windsor, Sherri Breaton and husband Rick of Windsor, Dana Dilworth and husband John of Burlington, and Dallas Desjardins Howell. Great-grandmother to Jenna Brydges and Jacy Brydges, Taylor Van Sickle, and Ethan and Alyssa Dilworth. Godmother of Stephen Funtig and Jamie Hillman. She will be missed by her precious kitty the Princess. Sister of Joseph Beiko and family in Romania and predeceased by 5 brothers in Canada and Europe. Survived by her sister in-law Lennie Bodo in British Columbia. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Europe. Violet was a member of the Ladies Group at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, she was affectionately known as one of the "Perogie and Cabbage Roll Ladies" and loved to make perogies with her friends and played cards at St. Theresa's Church and K of C on Lauzon Rd. She was a former employee of Peoples Jewellers for 20 years. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Brouillette Manor for the outstanding and loving care given to Violet for the past 3.5 years. They showed their love everyday. We would also like to thank the Emergency Staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus for their compassion in Violet's final hours. E. on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 16 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Panakhyda Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
