Obituary of Ellen Helena Dubowski

DUBOWSKI, HELENA (ELLEN) (nee Kapusciak) 1927-2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and Great-grandmother on July 5th 2011 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Stanley (1989). Predeceased by her sisters Anne and Lee, brothers Joseph and John. Cherished mother of Marian Chesnik (Bob), Cathy Myers (Paul), Martin (Marty) Dubowski (Irene), Edward (Eddy) Dubowski, Joanne McCloskey (Michael), Carol Brydges, Peter Dubowski (Pauline). Mother-in-law to Jamey Brydges. Sister-in law to Emily Kapusciak. Devoted Baba of Laura, Martina, Dana and Alexander Chesnik, Adam and Jake Myers, Briana, Kayla, Bristy and Avery Dubowski, Jay and Samantha Brydges, Pierce and Paris Dubowski. Great Baba to Zoya Villamizar. Family and friends were a very important part of Ellen"s life. She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest fan and could be found at the hockey arena, baseball diamond or soccer field, sometimes all in the same day. No matter what the outcome, she always had an encouraging word for them. Ellen was a retired nursery school teacher with the City of Windsor, who in her spare time enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and knitting. She was a member of the Windsor Horticulture Society for many years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday July 8, 2011 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Prayers Friday at 7:30 pm. Relatives and friends are requested to meet at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd & Tecumseh Rd.) on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. As an expression of your sympathy, donations can be made either to Hospice of Windsor or the V.O.N. Special thanks to Sue and all the V.O.N. nursing team who assisted us in keeping mom in her home until her death.
