Obituary of Regina Canil

CANIL, Regina (nee Truant) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 13, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Born in San Martino al Tagliamento, Italy to Celeste and Angela Truant. Beloved wife of the late John Peter (1991). Cherished mother of Kenneth (McGregor), Patty Canil Durocher (LaSalle), Kathy (Iqaluit, NU) and Dante and wife Terry (Victoria, B.C.). Treasured Nonna to Chelsea, Michael, Stephen, Dylan, and Rachael Durocher (LaSalle), Olivia Canil (Victoria, B.C.), and Rocco and Inez Canil (Iqaluit, NU). Devoted sister of the late Pia and Peter Lenardon (Dearborn, MI) and Eugenia (2002) and William Cullen (Kitchener, ON). Sister-in-law of Ines (1995) and John Bonato, Rita and the late Roy Willis, the late Rose and Norman Tonello, and the late Rena and Gino Tonello, all of Windsor, ON. She also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews. Our mother gave us a long life of love and devotion, and loved her family, her home and the simple things in life. She taught us well the value of hard work, the importance of family, and to be thankful for all we have. She will remain in our hearts and minds forever. A heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at Chateau Park Long Term Care for the exceptional care and compassion given to our mother, the wonderful nurses of 4 North Windsor Regional Hospital, and to Community Living Essex County for their genuine friendship and love given to our brother Kenneth during this time and always. A Memorial Mass will be held in her memory Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 4401 Mount Royal Dr. Windsor, Ontario.
