Obituary of Irene Marie Curtin

IRENE MARIE CURTIN (Loiselle) July 15, 1917 " May 15, 2011 It is with sadness that we announce the death of Irene Curtin. Predeceased by her husband George, (1980), and her son Wayne (2008) she is survived by daughter in law Edie (Miller), her grandchildren Erin, Jay & Lynn (Bianculli) & great grand daughters Laura & Charlotte. Irene is also survived by her sister Yolande (Boutette), sister in law Anne Loiselle (Bendera) & many nieces & nephews. Irene was predeceased by her father, Osias Loiselle, (1940) and her Mother, Florida (Chaput) (1963) and four brothers Felix, (1969 ) & his wife Germaine (Haudegand) (1999), Leon, (1985) Maurice (1972) & his wife Germaine (Plamondon) (1995), Lucien, (2006) & wife Margaret (2005). Irene had a long and full life. Originally from a farm near Vonda, Saskatchewan she came to Windsor during World War II and opened a salon, Chez Rene on Monmouth Road, which she operated for over 50 years. She had hundreds of clients over the years who grew and aged along with her before her retirement at 82. Irene loved to travel & took many trips throughout North America and Europe. Despite her love of independence, Irene had been at Devonshire Seniors Residence since 2001 after a stroke, and recently moved to Royal Oak LTC in Kingsville. A sincere thank you to the special care givers at Royal Oak. Their care and compassion was deeply appreciated. At Irene's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on June 19, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234.
