My deepest condolences to Joe's family and friends for their loss. I met Joe about 10 years ago in the power and sail squadron, where he willingly gave of himself in the interest of gaining and sharing boating knowledge. I will miss our annual rituals of launching and hauling out Joe's boat, as well as his friendly and un-inhibited banter when we got together. He managed to help me recognize how often we are too preoccupied with the formalities and conventions of life, and often made me laugh. Fair winds and calm seas Joe.
