Obituary of Ruggero Battagello

BATTAGELLO, Ruggero Passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital on May 26, 2011 at the age of 74 years with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Dania (nee Minato). Cherished father of Angelo and Krystan Battagello, Danny and Paula Battagello. Grandfather to Andrew and Erica Battagello, Meredith and Lilyana Battagello. Son to the late Maria and Giovanni Battagello. Brother to the late Antonietta and Attilio Roncato, Luigino Battagello of Mississauga, Franco and wife Bruna, Renzo and wife Rossana, Pierino and wife Genni, Agnese and husband Emilio, Armida and husband Antonio, and the late Francesco Battagello, all from Italy. Brother in-law to Ennio and Lidia Minato of Windsor, and Danilo and Betty Minato of Brights Grove. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Special thank you to the doctors and staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, 8 East, Dr. Snyder and staff of the Cancer Clinic, Dr. Irwin and nurse Julie. Ruggero was a member of Trevisani Nel Mondo, Alpini and the Carpenters Union Local 494. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday May 27, 2011 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday May 28, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Scalabrini Foundation for the Poor or the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
