CHIFOR, Dumitru 77 years. Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on April 7, 2011 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Beloved husband of Elena (nee Julea). Loving father of George Chifor and wife Melanie Coulter. Predeceased by his parents Gheorghe and Maria Chifor. Dear brother of Petre Chifor and wife Mary of Romania, Anghel Chifor and wife Sanda of Windsor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Chifor was a real estate developer and entrepreneur in Windsor and Essex County for many years. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 11, 2011 at St. George's Romanian Orthodox Cathedral (1960 Tecumseh Rd. East) from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Windsor Essex County Humane Society.
