TURTON, Jean Monica (nee Drew) Born December 31, 1914 Passed Away March 10, 2011 Dear wife of the late Joseph (1972). Dear mother to Leonard Turton (Mary), late Nancy Morand (1998) (Doug), Mary Anne Ward (Paul), late Terry Turton (2009) (Pauline), Michael Turton, Pat Turton (Sue), Penny Esping (Jeff), Ellen Turton. Dear grandmother to 16 grandchidren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Jean was born and raised in Merlin, Kent County. She is the last of her generation, predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters and their spouses. Jean had a soft spot for the village of Maidstone. As a young woman, Jean was a teacher. It was while she was teaching in Maidstone that she was introduced to a tall, good-looking guy named Joe Turton. The entire Turton family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Royal Oak Long Term Care (Kingsville) for the wonderful care given to our Mom. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Friends will be received at St. Mary's Church (Maidstone) on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial will take place at a later time at St. Alphonsus Cemetery (Windsor). As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Windsor Downtown Mission, Essex Food Bank, or St. Mary's Church.
