Obituary of Carl Rustulka
RUSTULKA, Carl Carl Rustulka of Windsor, Ontario passed away March 13, 2011. Carl was born on May 21st, 1922 and spent his early years in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, the oldest of 7 children of Frank and Helen Rustulka. While in England, Carl met the love of his life, Betty, and they were married on July 3, 1943. Carl is survived by his wife Betty of 68 years, and two sisters-Jessica Hirsch of Abbotsford, BC., and Rose Robinson of Duncan BC., as well as his loving family-daughter Linda (Dennis) Holmes, Philip (Cheryl), Lee and Keith, all of Windsor and Gerald (Grace) of Abbotsford, BC. Special father-in-law of Lori Rustulka. Carl was very proud of his 6 grandchildren, Sean (Tammy) & Chris (Katie) Holmes, Jay & Joni Rustulka & Chad & Matthew Rustulka. Proud great-grandfather of Lily, Logan, Evelyn and Taylor-they all affectionately referred to him as "Papa", and although they will not have the opportunity of visiting with him, they will hear lots of stories about him,from his grandmother, Linda. He will forever be deeply missed by all. At the outbreak of WWll in 1939, Carl enlisted with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry Division of the South Saskatchewan Regiment. He was stationed in England before his active duty in France and Belgium. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 (Main Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Thursday March 17, 2011 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. As he was a Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255, his fellow members will conduct a prayer service on Thursday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service Friday March 18, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Chapel, with Canon Ron Matthewman officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
