Obituary of Michael Bobbie

BOBBIE, Michael It is with great sadness that we express the passing of Michael Bobbie at the age of 87 on March 10 at Sunrise Senior Living in Windsor. Mike passed away peacefully in the presence of his family. Mike was the devoted, adoring and loving husband to Leona (nee Zadorozny) for 62 years. Together they shared a life that was full of love, admiration and respect for each other and raised a family blessed to have them as their parents. He was a cherished and loving father to Daniel (Christina Donely), Bill (Jean Marie Iannetta) and Tim (Cathy Dafoe). An adoring and loved grandfather to Cassandra Bobbie, Michelle Bobbie, Carter Bobbie and Adam Bobbie and great grandfather to Darius Jackson. Dear brother to Harry (Zita) and uncle to Brian, Paul and Zita. Predeceased by his sister Rose who lived in Ukraine. Mike arrived in Canada in 1939 with his mother from Ukraine at the age of fifteen to join his father who arrived in 1929 and settled in Krugerdorf, near Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Years later he made Windsor his home where he met Leona. He worked for Dare Foods for 35 years and retired with fond memories of his years with the company and the friends he made at grocery stores throughout the city and the county. Mike will be missed by his many friends, the parishioners of St. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church and by all those he touched during his life. The family expresses their sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff at Sunrise for the love, support and kindness they showed to Mike and continue to show to Leona.
