Obituary of Alonzo John Penton

PENTON, Alonzo John (#1 Newfie) Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a short but courageous battle with cancer, on February 14, 2011 at the age of 71 years. Much loved husband of 48 years to Armeline (nee LeBlanc). Adoring father of Mark (Dale), Arlene (Mike), and Owen (Colleen). Doting Papa of Aaron ( Amber), Nathan and Great Papa of Noah. Bonus Papa of Cole, Riley and Cole. Predeceased by his parents Alonzo and Catherine and by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by siblings Nell, Greg, Elsie, Ruby (Allan) and Bess (Jim). Predeceased by his 3 sisters in-law and 2 brothers in-law. Survived by in-laws Shirley (late Moe), Rita (Gabe), Gerry (Ellen), Simone (Bill), Anita (Borden), and niece Helen. Alonzo's laughter will also be missed by many other family members and friends in Newfoundland, Sudbury and Windsor. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers to take place Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 804 Grand Marais Rd Windsor from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
