Obituary of Ronald Robert Menard

Menard, Ronald Robert Passed away peacefully at Huron Lodge at the age of 80 on January 15th, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer"s disease. He has gone to join his darling wife Marilyn (nee Dimmick- March 2006). Cherished father of Pam & Ken Winik, Tim (July 2010) Ted & Donna. Son of the late Arthur & Eitred Menard. Loving Grandpa to Mike & Dawn, Chris & Melissa Lussier, Julie & Jon Hutz, Dayna & Samantha Winik, Matt,Ted Jr. Katie & Nick Menard. Great-grandpa to Henry Lussier. Dear brother of Marie & Nick Scheer, Jerry, Len & Betty, Ken & Maryann and the late Harold & Art Menard. Brother-in-law to Gerry & Joan Dimmick. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He started truck driving as a teamster for Stan BrownTrucking driving long haul car carriers out West before working at Chrysler Canada as a truck driver for 30 years. He was very active in the CAW serving many years as a union steward. Dad"s second love was stock car racing. He raced at Dayus Raceway, Bluebird, Checker Flag and many other Tracks in Southwestern Ontario. He was a founding father of W.O.S.C.R.A. where he held many positions over 44 years as well as a driver and car owner. Dad was inducted into the Checker Flag Hall of Fame in 2007. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer"s Society or Street Health Homeless Initiative would be greatly appreciated by the family.
